It felt so good to get that done we then laid out all the tile we had bought a year ago (at pratt and larsen’s seconds store) on the removed greenboard pieces (cause they were the exact size we would be tiling) out on the driveway to figure out a) how they would go together. and b) how many more we needed to get. We discovered we needed alot more tile. We went back to pratt and larsen a couple more times. We now have enough tile! We even found a CHICKEN tile that brandon is letting me put in with the rest of the tile! Yay! Here’s a rough idea of what it will look like:
We feel pretty good about it. Its going to be a bit hippie, but I think it’s structured well enough that it won’t look TOO hippie, if you know what I mean. I know what I mean.
So that took up alot of the week. Also, one of my best friends going all the way back to second grade Lindsay has moved back to portland with her little dog Inigo (as in “hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. you killed my father, prepare to die.”) who is one of marcus‘ bestus friends. This little guy is only 9 pounds, and Marcus is 68! My dog is so good at finding ways to play with all his friends, he adapts to their style. Inigo likes to run, and he is fast, so they run. But this week they also discovered they could wrestle a bit if Marcus lays down. Its adorable. Marcus lays down, and opens his mouth ferociously. Inigo then jumps all over him and bites his face! you’d think Marcus would hate it, but he loves being chewed on, it doesn’t seem to matter what size the dog is. So we took them for Inigo’s usual walk in Oaks bottoms, and marcus got his first chance at off leash hiking, and he was so good at it! He was polite to the other people and dogs on the trail, and stayed in view almost the entire time! I’m positive it was Inigo’s good influence. Lindsay is a helicopter pilot, and she is here for two weeks, and then off in Louisiana for two weeks flying. So for the two weeks she is gone, Inigo stays with her mom. We just got keys to her house so we can borrow him during the day sometimes. Marcus will love having another dog around all day! Here’s a picture of them:

We also went out to eat a few times at the Arleta Library Cafe, once with my brother and once with my new friend Dorothy (who we also made run errands with us). I started taking a Yoga class with Iris at the Mt. Scott community center (ouch! Yoga is hard!). Watched Jaslene win America’s next top model and got all excited about the finale for lost (two hours!). And last but not least, I hosted my very first Passion Party on friday night.
It was awesome. I had about twenty girls in my living room drinking and eating snacks and getting to know each other. I have a diverse friend group, and I rarely have them all together. Its always great to see girls that don’t know each other hook up and start talking, not just sticking to the little groups there that they already know. And what better way to get girls talking then looking at sex toys?!
The living room was packed, Marcus was on his best behaviour sitting in Auntie Iris’ lap on the couch, his only problem being that he had HORRIBLE gas that night. Freaking awful. Like, clear the couch bad. I had to light incense because you could smell it across the room! Kinda hilarious if you ask me. It didn’t put a dent in the ladies enjoyment of learning about lotions, glitter, and toys!
And those ladies spent money! The party was a success! And Julie, our consultant, had a blast with us. She lives in Astoria, and she loves it there, and the women there, but they are all middle-aged coastal ladies, and we are, well, crazy young portland girls. I’m posting a picture below, I don’t think the girls in it will mind, but if you do ladies, let me know and I’ll take it down!

So that’s my week more or less, it was really fun!
