We got a few more rose bushes from a friend, and they are doing well out in the parking strip. I can’t remember if I wrote about those already or not. Sadly, I think one of the climbing roses he gave us a month ago isn’t going to make it. It tried, and we tried, but its looking pretty bad this morning. I’ve still got hope for it though!
The pictures below are of the front yard. The first one is the front picket fence, with the rosemary, some tulips and Brandon’s veggie garden in which we have fava beans and clover growing currently. The next picture is right by our front door under the huge doug fir that is literally four feet from our house. Poor planning on the part of whoever built the house, cause I’m pretty sure the tree was there first. Anyway, thats the white Ribes I bought cause I couldn’t find a red one that day and HAD to have one. And a few native oxalis and heuchera and a colombine. I’m pretty happy with how it looks, because before when you looked out that front window, all you saw first was a pile of dirt and some rocks for the pathway. Not very inspiring!
The last picture above is Oscar’s cathouse. Thats right, its a house for our outside cat, not our dog. He doesn’t use it much, we got it when we knew we were moving, but not if we’d have a place indoors where the outdoor cat could get out of the weather. This house had a door to the laundry room that we put a cat door in, so he’s got his own room. He likes the house in the summer though. Mostly its used now to store gardening equipment. I liked the picture though cause Brandon stuck a bunch of camellia blossoms in the rain barrel. I thought they just happened there by accident.
See how big the girls are!! This picture I took easter morning before heading down to my booth at the Saturday Market. They like to see updated chicken pictures there. Here they are wandering around in what will be their new home in May, but for now they just get to go out when its nice outside. They love it, and get cranky when I take them back inside to their dog crate. I don’t blame them, I like it better when they are outside too-those girls are getting stinky!
As for a jewelry update, I am going to finalize the new glass and charm jewelry line this week! Today! (i hope) I’m going to make real samples, with the real chains and clasps I’m going to use, and real prices! I’ve put this off to long! Although, in all fairness, I did need to find the exact supplies I was going to use. And I did have orders to fill. And well, the garden is so nice when its pretty out, and my studio isn’t outside!
